November 28 what a nice day out28/11/07
hi all, well what a day, my son said did i want to go out with him, being shocked at his request as he's not one to ask things like that, i jumped at the chance, to spend time with him, on our own, and not with my wife (his mum)
so off we when looking around sports shops, had a coffee, then he wanted to pop into some charity shops, next thing i new was a handful of readers digest gardening books & a statement " thanks for being you dad",
well i could hardly speak, after a few minuites of silents and holding back tears i said thanks michael & your welcome,
next he said we should do this again as he had a good and relaxed day,
that makes two of us,
windy November 11 my allotmentHi All sorry for not writing for a while, it's been a tough time, anyway i'm back, as for the plot i've rotavated the ground and placed some landscape fabric over a 1/4 to clean the soil of weeds (creaping buttercup and nettles) i'll leave the fabric on for a year and see what happens, hopefully it will starve the weeds, nettles and buttercups of light stopping photosynthesis happening ie:- the plant making food for it's self,
i've built a couple of large compostbins and filled them with fallen leaves and some old straw from a roof, that a thatcher dont want, he was going to dump it and burn it so i said i would take it for him,
i'm clearing an old dumping area of more nettles and rabbits, what a job, roots as big as parsnip and as deep as a coalmine (well is seems like it when i digging them out) i'm battling with stones, old wire, bed matteresses, tree roots, any one got a digger i can borrow for a while,
i've started off my sweetpeas and early peas for next year,
